show and tell
I recall fondly the days of school where we would bring in something special to show the class. I would labor over what to tell them about it. What to say to make them understand the significance of it.
Tonight... it was kind of like that... only without the teacher hovering over me to make sure I didn't pull something inappropriate out of my backpack...
Actually I get the feeling that inappropriate sharing would have been A-Okay...
I think that says more about the person I was visiting with than our society as a whole though...
I won't keep you in suspense... I won't withhold the information any longer.
After an entire month's delay I finally got to meet the incomparable Missburrows...
We started off at a brew pub for the Portland Metroblog meet up (where we saw many other lovely bloggers we should all know and love).
and then we had show and tell.
She showed me this lovely gift from Holly and told me about the name tag she made for it. I think labeling items is AWESOME.
Then I showed her the gift Holls sent me... a sonic screwdriver straight from the Doctor Who museum near her home.
I found it amazing that we both brought our Holly love gifts...
So then we talked about Holly. How much we love Holly. How great we think she is. How jealous she must be that we were together in one room.
Then there may have been some maniacal laughter on my end as I rubbed it in by sending Holly an e-mail while I thought she should have been asleep...
er... my bad... she was awake. I was hoping to irritate her in the morning... not right before she slept... I hope she has sweet sweet dreams of not killing me... but that is neither here nor there at the moment since Holly wasn't actually physically with us...
After hanging out and enjoying the company of our cohorts but not enjoying the loud din of the rest of the pub we decided to make our exit and head for greener pastures.
Well no. Not really. We were just really hungry and wanted so much to eat something tasty... so off to dinner we went.
There was amazing food, great conversation, tears and laughter.
I am so not making this up.
Mr. Kaos was crying into his spinach pie wishing he could extricate himself from the crazy chick conversation... until we started talking about strippers and body piercing... then he decided we were just fine to be around...
But alas the evening had to end. We had to get Missburrows back to her car and get ourselves home to kiss the forehead of our sleeping girl...
Plus? I totally wanted to get home to blog this.
I sure hope she wasn't just using me to make Holly jealous...
