happy cake vs easy bake or a birthday vs the world
So new years eve we had a couple drinks, watched a couple movies, made a couple pizzas and a couple of ice cream sundaes, put the K to bed and watched Monty Python until midnight... The very next day we woke up a little early, cleaned a little around the house and prepared for a little brunch. Our friends came over and brought their daughter... K & T kept each other busy for the entire day while we laughed and drank, talked and played and had the general merriment that comes from a nice day with nice friends... All the while a shadow was looming and outside forces sought to press "the birthday issue" with Mike... he doesn't really like to celebrate his birthday... give him some champagne, K & I and some friends and that is sincerely all he needs...The day ended on a low note... His parents are for some reason irritated with him, he went to sleep agitated and because of the way the day was going he had no birthday cake. NO BIRTHDAY CAKE??? I know oh the humanity... that brings us to the happy cake... oops I mean easy bake oven... He's not much of a cake eater... but for Christmas K got an easy bake oven... all he wants is an easy bake happy cake... so we're going to give it to him... it is a 2 layer yellow cake with chocolate frosting, his age in red icing and star shaped candles around the whole thing...shhh... don't tell...
